How often police are called to a Family Violence incident in Australia

90,697

Number of recorded perpetrators of abuse in 2023-24

78

Murders in Australia due to Family Violence in
2024

41%

of Australians had experienced physical and/or sexual violence by a partner

And this only accounts for what is reported...

So what is the solution?

What if we had a cross-jurisdictional, systematic, evidence-based matrix that visualises what abuse, exploitation and neglect looks like, understands how it occurs and stops it in its tracks?

One that openly accessible intelligence to equip communities, practitioners, and organisations (and individuals) to detect, understand, and counter abuse and exploitation before it escalates?

We're taking our time to get things right

Our vision for SAFE is bold: we aim to create the world’s first survivor-centred, evidence-based, open-source framework that equips communities, professionals, and organisations to detect, understand, and counter abuse and exploitation before harm escalates.

We're taking our time to launch SAFE, so we can partner with the right people to make sure it serves its mission to protect people from harm. If you have a particular skill set that you think would help inform a robust, secure and evidence-based tool. WE WANT YOU.

We're looking for researchers, policy makers, specialist experts in the field of criminology, behavioural psychology, family violence and abuse. As well as cyber and data superstars to ensure that the information we collect is more secure than your grandma's secret ingredient.

Or if you have something else that can help us get this show on the road. Please get in contact.

Our Ask

Your voice and expertise are the key to shaping solutions that truly stop abuse before it starts.

Practitioners

We ask for your insights to help ensure that the way we translate, collect, and present data truly supports the work of experts and policymakers in addressing family violence.

Security Professionals

The knowledge and experience of security and intelligence professionals is invaluable in helping us cover every angle - from how technology is used to harm others to understanding non-technical abuse vectors through a security lens.

Survivors

We aim to establish a trauma-informed service that ultimately supports victims and survivors while preventing further harm. Without the lived experiences of both survivors and perpetrators, we can’t fully understand the realities of abuse or design solutions that truly make a difference.
